		<description>It's just a side-effect of this particular lens configuration.  Don't forget that even at 13" you can use quite a bit of zoom to get close to things.  I do this for bugs all the time.

While I haven't seen the macro lens I would guess it would perform quite well.</description>

		<description>The DSC-r1 sounds very exciting..I have been frustrated first with film and a great Nikon and now with a decent Sony digital Point and Snap.  I really want great (near Pro) quality pictures that I can print at 8X10 or larger. With the point and shoot I found that I can take terrific pictures without constantly changing lenses as long as I work within the limitations of the camera...the DSC-R1 might fit my needs only thing is that macro is very important for me...bugs and flowers and such and I see in the specs that it can only go down to about 13 inches....Why do the cheaper point and shoots go down to 3/4" such as the H1 ?  I see there is a macro add-on for the DSC-R1 but I am afraid that I will be trading something else off with an "adaptor" macro...any thoughts</description>
