World Press Photo is an independent non-profit organization committed to supporting and promoting the work of professional press photographers on an international scale.

The World Press Photo of the Year is universally regarded as the world’s most prestigious photojournalism award, with the winners assured of a place in photojournalism history. The contest forms the cornerstone of World Press Photo’s activities and attracts thousands of entries every year from professional photographers the world over.

World Press Photo is now accepting entries from professional photographers to the 2006 World Press Photo Contest. The deadline for entries is 12th January 2006. Entry forms, entry rules and guidelines can be downloaded from the following World Press Photo site: www.worldpressphoto.nl/contest
