Sony is reported to be very close to announcing the following models-
Cybershot H5
Cybershot H2
Cybershot W100
Cybershot W70
Cybershot W40
A digital SLR
All this according to LetsGoDigital’s article Sony Cybershot cameras at PMA 2006. PMA 2006 is getting closer so I would not be surprised if the introduction is made this week.
The unofficial specifications states that the Sony H5 features a 7 Megapixel effective CCD image sensor, Carl Zeiss 12x Zoom, Super Steady Shot, 3.0-inch color screen LCD and a high ISO sensitivity of 1000 ISO.
The Sony Cybershot H2 model probably has the same body and lens, the specifications state the same Carl Zeiss 12x optical zoom, but a lower effective CCD image sensor resolution of 6 Megapixels.
The Sony Cybershot W100 camera is said to offer 8 Megapixel effective CCD image sensor and a 3x optical Carl Zeiss zoom lens.
The Sony W70 features a 7 Megapixel effective CCD image sensor and is able to capture MPEG-4 video in a resolution of 640×480 with audio at 30fps.
In between the Sony W30 and W50 there is room for another W-model, the Sony Cybershot W40.
And of course with the assets from Konica Minolta PI in hand come March 31st, there is much anticipation of Sony’s first DSLR, incorporating the Maxxum/Dynax lens mount system.
