Nikon Corporation has posted firmware updates for its D40 and D80 digital SLRs.

Nikon D40 SLR

The new firmware for the D40 includes Certification for Windows Vista and adds new USB support, extended date settings, and a number of display and menu improvements, as well as a number of problems have been resolved.

Nikon D80 SLR

The new firmware for the D80 adds the display of additional information in the viewfinder when the brightness exceeds the range that can be controlled by the camera. In addition, problems with in-camera editing of images have been resolved.
