The FinePix S9100 (named the S9600 in the UK/European market) is the latest model in Fujifilm’s SLR-styled digital camera line-up and successor to the highly regarded FinePix S9000. It features a 10.7x Fujinon optical zoom lens, 9-MegaPixel Fujifilm Super CCD sensor and ISO 80-1600 capabilities. The FinePix S9100 is aimed at photo enthusiasts who will benefit from its impressive zoom range, functionality, high light sensitivities and overall image quality. Steve’s Digicams has a review of the Fujifilm FinePix S9100 and writes,
"All users will enjoy the smooth essentially noise-free images shot at ISO 80, while sports shooters will appreciate the ability to shoot full-resolution images at ISO 800 and 1600. Image noise is usually present in consumer digicams at high sensitivities, and the S9100 is no exception. Noise can be detected in shadows at ISO 200, in highlight areas at ISO 400, and is noticeable throughout the image at settings of ISO 800 and 1600. There’s also a sizable loss of image detail at ISO 800 and 1600, the result of in-camera noise reduction. While image quality suffers at high ISO settings, sports shooters will be happy to have sensitivity settings that may make the difference between getting the shot and not. "
