Sharp has developed an LCD equipped with touch screen and scanner functions. Each pixel of the new LCD panel has a bulit-in optical sensor, eliminating the currently used technique to bond film to the panel. The technology results in a thinner, beautifully clear screen display, and allows recognition based on simultaneously touching multiple points on the screen.
